My name is Paige Abernethy. I am a second year agriculture science student at Lincoln University.
I am Christchurch born, however have lived 12 years in Melbourne and have now moved back to my hometown to complete my four year degree. I have a growing interest in soil science therefore have majored in mainly plant and soil science papers during my degree. Once graduating, I aim to have the qualifications to be employed as an agronomist to work alongside farmer’s nationwide giving advice for best crop growth practices. New Zealand Grain and Seed Trade Association scholarship has been an important achievement for me as I hope it will open more opportunities in the agronomy sector and allow me to learn more about the industry.
Being awarded this scholarship will not only help fund my studies yet allow a positive start to my future career in agronomy.
