Code of Ethics

The Code of Ethics of the New Zealand Grain and Seed Trade Association Inc. sets out specific expectations of members Each Member of the Association will:

  • Respect and value their membership of the Association and abide by the Rules and the Constitution of the Association.
  • Transact grain, pulses, seed for sowing and produce in a professional seedsman like manner.
  • Ensure that all grain, pulses, seed for sowing and produce is true to its representative documentation and where applicable, ensure that the products origin is traceable.
  • Respect the Intellectual Property Rights of the owners of Proprietary Cultivars and patented technologies, and pay applicable royalties and levies where required.
  • Use best management practices in providing services to the seed industry.
  • Observe all other industry standards as applicable.
  • Act in an honourable and fair manner in all its business dealings and in such a way as to uphold the values of the New Zealand Grain and Seed Trade Association.
  • Pay for goods purchased within the agreed timeframe

The NZ Grain & Seed Trade Association Inc has terms of trade and conditions set out in its handbook, which applies to trade between members. These terms and conditions are to be interpreted in the spirit of the Code of Ethics.
